Staff Spotlight: Danielle Hargis
Danielle is a senior accountant at mAccounting. We hope this Q&A will help you get to know her and why she is such a pivotal member of our team.
What does a senior accountant do? A little bit of everything. Senior accountant is the step between staff accountant and controller, so I have bookkeeping clients as well as a few controller clients that I also do the bookkeeping for. The position is designed to be a transition between the two so there is a lot of learning involved and increased responsibilities.
What’s your favorite part about being a senior accountant? I like learning and being more involved in the monthly close process and financial statements for the clients. I feel like I have a better understanding of the client’s business because I see it from the bottom up.
What drew you to mAccounting? The ability to work for all different kinds of small businesses, the company culture, and how close it is to home!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? I wish I could be a pro at all things home improvement. It would save us so much money on home projects!
If you have 30 spare minutes, how would you spend them? I have 4 months to go until I have my first child, so free time isn’t limited for me yet. 30 spare minutes aren’t hard to come by and I usually spend them scrolling Facebook and Instagram on my phone!
What’s your favorite Movie? The Greatest Showman
